Epicurus had a word for what we sell: ataraxia — the quiet that comes from knowing there’s nothing left to worry about. Everkeep began with a simple observation: some digital things are too important to delete and too private to leave in an always-connected account.

WHY THIS EXISTS
Most of our clients don’t come to us because something happened. They come because they’re tired of the low-grade anxiety of wondering: what if my drive dies? what if my account gets hacked? what if no one can find these in twenty years?
Hannah Arendt wrote that the private realm — the part of life no one else sees — is where we are most fully ourselves. We think she was right. And we think that realm deserves a vault.
So the model is intentionally narrow: you own the media, you perform the encryption, and you keep the key. Everkeep manages the physical object and the long-term custody work around it. Encryption is your job. Custody is ours. That boundary is the whole service.

We’ve learned that trust isn’t built with promises. It’s built with boundaries — clear, structural, verifiable. Everkeep is not an online vault, a secret-sharing app, or a promise of permanence. It is a physical custody service with a line you can see.
- Never ask to see the contentWe record the physical media and its custody status — never its private meaning. We wouldn’t know how to look, and we prefer it that way.
- Keep irreversible actions humanFuture instructions pass through notices, confirmation and a recorded review.
- Make the chain visibleNumbering, sealing, photography and logs support each custody handoff.
- State the limits plainlyNo password recovery, no remote access and no guarantee of forever.
HOW WE WORK

Custody begins with a conversation, documented intake and counsel-reviewed service terms — then one straightforward price: CAD 187/year per device slot. No tiers, no upsells, no surprises.
Two copies, two locations
Primary and backup stored separately. Semi-annual physical inspections — seal, condition, inventory. Your drive is never powered on without your written consent. Renewal reminders before every period.
On your terms
Reading-room sessions, scheduled returns, or time-capsule instructions — executed only with your confirmation.
